Vintage Acoustic Research AR-2a Speakers, rare. Pair of Acoustic Research, AR-2a speakers from late 1961 to 1962 I would imagine per serial numbers D9241 & D9829. Oiled Pine cabinets in very good condition with a few light superficial scratches. Original paperwork still attached to backs of both speakers. I played these today and they sound great but Im sure if used heavy the surrounds would need to be replaced at some point. These were pulled from a built-in cabinet and thats why they look almost brand new. First time theyve seen daylight since the 60s. I doubt very much that the gentleman who has now passed away played them much. The grill fabric on one has some staining from the oil I imagine on the wood, and the moniker badges have very tiny age spots. They weigh 35 lbs.
