Here’s a nice set of vintage (AR), Acoustic Research AR 7 bookshelf speakers. Each cabinet features an 8″ acoustic suspension woofer and 1 1/2″ dome tweeter. All parts are original (subwoofer foam has just been replaced, so these speakers should last for years to come). These speakers have have been well cared for and are in very nice condition. The foam surrounds on the woofer’s were deteriorated so I’ve installed fresh surrounds. I was really impressed by the heavy duty 8 woofer, it’s very substantial for a speaker of this size. These speakers are compact in size but deliver big sound! If you have never heard an AR speaker, you’ve got a pleasant surprise coming! Clean highs and deep bass, a very uncolored sound. I would rate them among the best speakers I’ve heard for their size along with the EPI M-50. Many audio magazines back in the 70’s called this speaker an amazing performer for it’s size and cost, I would agree! The veneer cabinets are in very nice shape, there are a several light scratches and dings but they still look great. The original grill covers are also nice, no holes, but a do show wear from age. The original emblems are attached and the protective film has never been removed. Take a look at the pictures and let me know if you have any questions.
