Up for your consideration is this Pair of vintage Acoustic Research AR-2ax speakers. They are in working condition, but need the usual work. The foam surrounds are deteriorated, and the cups need cleaning (you have to wiggle the knobs to get the tweeters to play). The cases are in Phenomenal condition, with only very minor wear to them. All components are Original. Two screws on the back have been replaced. One Tag is missing the Ar-2ax face plate. Each has a 10-inch bass speaker, mounted in an acoustically sealed enclosure filled with glass wool, and in addition , a small, high-dispersion cone speaker. In the AR-2ax there is a third speaker, a ¾-inch hemisphere for very high frequencies, the same unit as is used for this purpose in the AR-3a. Separate controls on the back of the AR-2ax permit independent adjustment of the level of the midrange and high frequency speakers.
