Very nice pair of classic AR4x. Serial numbers are 28259 & 28331. These are very early models and have the cloth surrounds. This pair has been lovingly restored to perform as closely as possible to when they were new. The following was done. Crossover capacitors replaced with new 20uf bipolar electrolytics. Original crossover potentiometers opened and cleaned with a brass brush. Good contacts now throughout the range of adjustment. Cloth surrounds on the woofers treated with Simply Speakers surround conditioner. This restores air seal and improves pliability. Walnut veneer cabinets lightly sanded and treated with wood restorer. Original grill covers lightly brushed to remove dust and dirt. Original brass badges included. Original AR tweeters were non-functional and have been replaced with a quality paper-cone tweeter of very similar design and performance. The replacement tweeter has a slightly higher top end extension than the original and helps correct one of the only criticisms of the 4x: a slightly rolled-off top end.
