Offerring a Pair of Acoustic Research AR 2A Speakers. Esate find, the history is unknown. One cab did have the grill removed and it was cracked in quite a few places. Take a look at the pictures for a look at the rear of the grill. I glued each of the cracks and it’s intact and useable as long as your gentle. I also fount that the tone controls are very dirty and spotty. As you can see from the pics the speakers are in Very Clean Condition. They have been well tested and all drivers work and they sound excellent I have enjoyed this pair emensly, they are so lively and detailed. They have a transparency and tone that is refreshing. Due to the age of the speakers they do have some related issues. First off, the tone controls work, but they have some dead spots and are scratchy and intermittent at some points. I managed to get half range or so, but had to play with them, and finese them quite a bit. They definitely need a rebuild and good cleaning. Also, as they are roughly 60 years old, I would recommend that the woofers be inspected to make sure the spider is not coming unglued. Very common on these old AR’s and worth a look. I did not want to break the seals, they look to be original and I know they are not the easiest to remove. The cabs are very clean for their age with some minor knicks and scratches. The cabinet with the repaired grill has a few small issues like; a small chip on the top right rear corner and 4 small indents one side. Check the pictures for a better idea of wear and tear. All drivers appear to be original and do not appear to have been removed. The serial numbers are 26647 and 26947. Measurements are: 13 1/2″ W x 11 1/2″ D x 23 3/4 H.
