Acoustic Research AR90 Speakers Uniquely Restored Pair. I made them my primary Home Speakers. All the Drivers were re-foamed at Lakes Electronics in South Fl. Their tech at the time, was a former AR employee (from long ago) The Cabinets have been re-veneered with Metal-Backed Veneer. This resulted in the speakers having wood veneer “all-around” far more than AR ever did. The Finish Stain is now Black (more modern) and has two coats of Satin Poly on top. Original labels and Serial numbers are preserved. Inside they are completely re-wired with oxygen free copper wire, and new Binding Posts, Newer Acoustic Foam Insulation, has been added as well. All grill cloth has been replaced, even the grill retainers, and feet are new. You can see that all the Original Foam “Blankets” are in good condition as well. They are 4 ohm, so you need to feed them Power. I used to drive them with a Yamaha MX1000 Power Amp. I no longer have an adequate room to enjoy these. So it is time for them to find a new home. This Restoration does not restore them to their original look. However, in many respects they are finer than Original. They are good, for decades to come..
