Vintage 1960’s Acoustic Research AR-3 Matching Speakers Sequential Numbers 45005 & 45006. For Sale, a Pair of Rare Vintage 1960’s Acoustic Research AR-3 Loudspeakers Matching set in Walnut with sequential Serial Numbers 45005 & 45006 After acquiring this set I took them to a local vintage electronics repair shop to determine the condition. The technician stated the speakers appear in all original condition no restoration has been done. When testing, both speakers share the same condition. Woofers are both firing and the mids & tweeters are intermittent when adjusting the pots. His assessment is that the pots need to either be deoxidized, replaced, or bypassed. He also was able to take a peek into the speakers via slight opening on the side of the grills and stated that all the components are complete.
