They have been well-cared for in a smoke-free home. Driver 1: Excellent original condition, no damage. Driver 2: Features a 4-inch tear from a signal surge that has been repaired with flexible rubber/vinyl adhesive. Both drivers have been fully tested. There is NO voice-coil rub or scratching. They sound clear and perform well.

This pair of cabinets were my Dad’s. I had put wood preservative on them a few months ago. The cones were re-coned a few months ago. 1 sounds perfect, the other one needs to be pushed in to the cone and then is strong. I don’t know the problem, and I did not check both until after the re-coning. Voice coil is still intact as it has sound. The other high and mid range are good. Too heavy for me to move around. We’ll go over speakers when you come to look them over.

For sale is a pair of Acoustic Research AR-1 / AR1 speakers. The rare bookshelf speakers equipped with 755A loudspeakers. Cosmetically, the cabinets show wear. There are scratches, chips, and some areas of the veneer are buckling. The pictures will do a better job illustrating their condition than words can. Please refer to them for more information. My client tells me these still work. The other 200 things he gave me to sell worked, so I have no reason not to believe they work. I took pictures of everything so you can see what you are getting. The grilles are spot glued on. One came of easy so I took it off to show the insides. Walnut case have various scratches, water spotting, small nicks, but a re structurally solid with no issues. Grilles are intact, no fabric rips. See pics for details.
