The AR 228’s were designed by Ken Kantor, the designer of the AR MGC-1 Magic Speaker. This series was a last push effort by AR, to try and reclaim some of their former glory. Good speakers, and worth owning. The 228’s were released in 1995. Spec’d 49 to 20KHz at 86dB sensitivity.

Grilles and cones are in fantastic shape – not a mark on them! 18″ x 10.5″ x 10.
