Acoustic Research AR-9 / Adcom GFA-5800 Complete Vintage Stereo System – Documen. Offered for sale is my complete home stereo system built around a pair of. Teledyne Acoustic Research AR-9 loudspeakers. Adcom GFA-5800 power amplifier. I would prefer to sell the system complete before considering individual components. Acoustic Research AR-9 Loudspeakers. In 1996, all four 12-inch woofers and both 8-inch lower-midrange drivers were replaced with factory-authorized replacements from AB Tech Services. I have the receipt documenting that work. In August 2026, the foam surrounds on all four 12-inch woofers and both 8-inch drivers were replaced using materials from Midwest Speaker Repair. The speakers are presently operating and sound excellent. Cosmetically they present very well for their age. There are a couple of very small imperfections in the front grille fabric which are not noticeable at normal listening distance. Close-up photographs are included for full disclosure. Adcom GFA-5800 Power Amplifier. The AR-9s are powered by an. Rated at 400 watts per channel continuous into 4 ohms. Also included are a pair of. AudioQuest Crystal 2 Hyperlitz FPC/LGC copper speaker cables. The complete system also includes. With working remote and original owner’s manual. Sony CDP-C545 5-disc CD changer. It is constructed from solid red oak using plate-joint construction and was custom built by a personal friend. It measures approximately 24 inches wide × 16 inches deep × 45 inches tall, has a fixed lower shelf, two adjustable shelves, and casters.
