ACOUSTIC RESEARCH AR-1 SPEAKERS RARE. They are working but will properly need service to the crossover/control. They sound fantastic to me one of the best sounding speakers I’ve personally heard in my career. They show signs of wear from use but present very well for their age. I did not want to disturb them in their untouched found state. These are incredible pieces of audio history and hopefully they end up in an amazing permanent collection. Pro packaged, insured and includes tracking.

Up for sale, an empty AR1W speaker cabinet. This cabinet was professionally modified to match an AR1 cabinet, which would allow it to accept an Altec 755a speaker. The project was abandoned when I couldn’t locate an Altec 755a driver or an AR1 crossover. Uou will get what is pictured, the cabinet with original insulation and an original unmodified grill. Original Grille Cloth for AR-1 loudspeakers restoration or repair. This is an original Acoustic Research AR-1 grille cloth pulled from an Acoustic Research AR-1 loudspeaker dating 1955. Really hard to find! In good used condition. Includes its back masonite piece. They measure 22.8″ x 11.6″ (grill cloth) and 23.1. X 11.3 (masonite panel). 58 x 29,5 and 58,7 x 28,7 cm.
