AR 28S – Fully Restored. Recapped. Refoamed. New Domes. Original cabinets – new black vinyl. Tweeter diaghgrams replaced with aftermarket domes. Grills replace with new grill cloth. These have been gone through top to bottom with care – they offer that classic AR warmth and smoothness, but with the reliability and performance of a freshly restored set. New crossover capacitors (tightened imaging, cleaner highs). Drivers level-matched for even left/right performance. New vinyl veneer cabinets – clean, sharp, and better than factory. All terminals, wiring, and seals checked and refreshed. The AR28S is known for its balanced, musical, non-fatiguing sound. Warm, full bass for the size. Excellent coherence; great for jazz, classic rock, acoustic, and general everyday listening. 2-way acoustic suspension design. 8 woofer, dome tweeter. Speaker size (each): 544? ×? 298? ×? 199? Legendary Acoustic Research AR-28s Loudspeakers. Warm, natural and detailed sound with clean acoustic suspension bass performance. These are the last (or nearly the last) of the GREAT speakers from the TELEDYNE era of Acoustic Research. Fully restored to excellent performance. Woofer re-foamed and properly centered WITHOUT mutilating original dust cap – using bass tone centering technique (NO voice coil rub). Replaced crossover capacitor with exact-spec 8uf bi-polar capacitor. Cleaned magnetic gap and replaced dome tweeter ferrofluid.
