Rare PAIR Acoustic Research AR-5 HiRes Series Updated And Upgraded

The Acoustic Research AR-5 Tower Speakers are a pair of right and left speakers with an integrated powered subwoofer. The sleek black speakers have an audiophile sound. Perfect for a 2.0 channel home audio system, these wired speakers from Acoustic Research offer a high-quality listening experience with a modern design. Ideal for TV, video, and music lovers looking to enhance their home audio setup. When I first got these speakers they needed a few things. I wound up upgrading the surrounds, recapped the amps and a few other things. I have been blessed to evaluate many different speakers over the years. These AR5s are exceptional. They seem to do everything right. The 300 watt subwoofer produces as much bass as one could possibly hope for. Everyone I have let listen to these have all been impressed. Smooth, detailed non-fatiguing sound. I had intended on keeping these but circumstances are so that I need to sell them.

AR5 speakers for sale. Both speakers had woofers refoamed and were properly resealed. The cabinets are in great condition. Original paperwork still on back of each speaker. The midrange / tweeter level controls were cleaned, one was replaced by previous owner. Original AR5 badging present and grill material is in good condition overall.

ACOUSTIC RESEARCH AR-5 VINTAGE SPEAKERS. Years of manufacture: 1972 – 1974. Color: front fabric light brown, cabinet American walnut. Dimensions: 343 x 610 x 292 mm (WxHxD) Weight: 17,8 kg. Technical Data Type: 3-way, bass reflex. Chassis: woofer: 254 mm cone midrange driver: 32 mm dome tweeter Tweeter: 16 mm dome tweeter. Acoustic Research AR-5 Speakers, Project. Bought them with the intent to finish but reluctantly letting them go. Prefer to sell whole, open to reasonable offers. Let me know what you are interested in. Please read comments below. Grill covers in good condition with original badges. Cabinets are in ok condition except thin wood trim broken under the grill covers in few places. Mid range drivers, both ok. Woofers both work, but one need refoaming and one needs re-coning too. Parts are available for both online and can provide links. 1 tweeter working one doesn’t seem to be. They can be repaired (link available for that too). I have two Realistic 10 woofers that can fit the cabinet and do work (need refoaming). Can include them for free if interested. Sound demo available on YT. They work as is but ofcourse once the above repairs are done, they would be an awesome set of speakers. Keywords: klipsch heresy tannoy Martin Logan dynaco.

THIS VINTAGE SPEAKER CABINET IS IN GOOD CONDITION OVERALL, HOWEVER THE SPEAKER IS CLEARLY ROTTED. THIS SPEAKER HAS BEEN UNUSED FOR MANY YEARS. PERHAPS SOME USEABLE PARTS CAN BE TAKEN FROM IT. THE CABINET IS 24″ X 13.5″ X 11.5 AND WEIGHS 40 LBS.
