Then I measured them next to each other so that they could go in a big box. Together they measure 26 x 19 x 19 so you would have to add say 3 inches to each number for bubble wrap and packing materials. Then they weigh 57 pounds each, so 114 pounds for the pair. One, original, AR Tweeter for AR-12 speakers. This was manufactured approximately 1977. Do not confuse this with the tweeter for the AR-11 or AR-10PI, it is not the same. May also be used as a substitute for the AR LST-2 Rear Terminal Tweeter. Initially, we have two available. Removed from a working AR-12 speaker. Fully tested with test equipment and a music source. This is the correct impedance as the LST-2. However, the dome is a little softer. As the LST-2 Tweeter is very hard to locate, this is a nice substitute and blends nicely with the other LST-2 tweeters. We seldom have one of these. You might want to consider one for a long term spare. Suitable drivers for the early model AR speakers are becoming harder to find. Experience tells us that if you are going to have a failure, it will be the tweeter. If your foam seal has deteriorated, new foam gasket tape is available in Dept. OTHER SPEAKER SERVICE PARTS. AR speakers require sealed cabinets to achieve those low bass notes they are famous for. Felt Tweeter Rings are also found in this dept. We usually have over 200 AR items listed. A rare Pair indeed! Acoustic Research LST-2 speaker set. ALL pictures are of our actual speakers. Nicks on cabinet edges. One fabric speaker cover has a tear and a water stain. One side speaker cover missing. All speakers are working; recently tested and checked by Hickory Audio Labs in Buford Georgia. Phil (owner) has said that one set of tweeters has slightly degraded over time but are still functioning; the speakers sound amazing as they are! Cabinets show just a tad bit of edge wear – nothing to distract from their inherit aesthetics. These speakers weight just shy of 60lbs each. If using your own shipper, we will drop off the speakers and have them package them as well. Local Pickups are FREE!!!
