These speakers have been re-foamed as seen in the photos. Overall in great condition for their age. All imperfections can be seen in the photos. The knobs on the rear are a bit scratchy and finicky but once the sweet spot is found they produce amazing sound quality.

Pair of 1960’s ar3 speakers in top notch condition. Plug and play, Just picked up from Mid-West Speaker in Roseville, Minnesota. All cones replaced with newest high end material. You will be jamming on these for decades. Speakers were completely gone through, cleaned, new deadening material, wire connections re-soldered and upgraded , NOS grill covers, walnut cabinets reconditioned. Yes, they sound fantastic. All my AR, McIntosh, Thorens Ect… Its been a dream of mine to own one and the one I hope to get is local and the same owner since new. I believe its sitting in the same place it was delivered to in 1958. The ar3 speakers have always been adult owned and operated. All of the original rear case stickers are present and complete. You Are Looking At a Vintage Acoustic Research AR TSW-910 Speaker System – Fresh Foam – 100% Working (Please Read First). The Cabinets are not perfect, but they are pretty darn nice. Signs of wear include, a few snags and small holes in the side fabric and a small run in one of the dust covers along with a few broken tabs on the dust cover, the covers still mount and still look good. One of the toes on the bottom wood base plate had a crack. The wood was tapped through the bottom and 10 reinforcement screws along with wood glue were counter sunk and then capped with oak caps to conceal the screws. A hairline crack is still slightly visible on the top of the toe and on the side, but it is well concealed and the toe is very secure with no wiggle or slop, nothing to worry about. No holes were drilled on the top or sides of the base plate, only the bottom as noticed on the left hand speaker in picture #7. Please review pictures to give personal cosmetic grade. We feel you will agree the item is in overall beautiful condition. As for performance; I personally cannot think of a speaker I would rather listen to than these. The sound is amazing. There are many forums you can Google and anything I have read that has been written would agree and elaborates on why these are so amazing. Be sure to read about the tweeters!! I have included a link below of an actual written review on these units when they were new it also includes all the specs you will want and need. There are also some links to some quick videos I made of the actual speakers for sale. I apologize, they were not staged and there is a large fan in the background, but put your headphones on and you will get the point that these perform as advertised. The very bottom link below will give you access to even more photos and a ton of videos I recorded playing all sorts of songs. Again, I apologize for the fan, my garage clutter, and not having the staging set up to optimize the sound for you. Put these in your living room, set up properly and prepare to transcend to another dimension. Yeah, these are that cool. One note and if you research online you will read this as well… If you are using an underpowered amp these are known to burn amps up. Please do not come to me saying the speakers are flawed, it is not a flaw you were just cheap. Invest in a good amp to go with these and you will thank yourself for years to come. Side note, the 12 speakers on the front and rear are actual woofers. There are no passive radiators on these beasts. The 12 share a sealed compartment and each one of the other speakers including the ultra rare and amazing tweeters have their own sealed chamber. Every speaker on these units just had new foam surrounds installed. So no worries about any rot on any of these speakers. Only the items pictured are included in this sale. Main speakers and all four dust covers (2 full front & 2 for the 12 Rears) – The cabinet in the middle is not included nor is any of the beverages. You must have a physical address not a PO Box. If you are in a neighboring state to AZ we can discuss me delivering them personally to you. They are worth it and all the cost is upfront. Much cheaper and just as fun in the long-run.
