Tweeters can cut in and out on one speaker, but come back if you wiggle the crossover. Great candidate for a full restoration.

Grill cloth, wood, speaker foam, all original and excellent. Comes with original poster and instructions. Come listen to them. The KLH Model Five is a legendary, three-way acoustic-suspension loudspeaker originally produced between 1968 and 1977 by the KLH Research and Development Corporation. Designed during the golden era of New England audio engineering, Today, vintage audiophiles highly prize the Model Five for its exceptionally smooth, warm, and natural musical presentation. Key Technical Specifications Design Type: 3-Way Acoustic Suspension (sealed cabinet design that uses the air trapped inside as a tight spring for the woofer). Driver Configuration:One 10-inch acoustic-suspension woofer (delivering deep, highly controlled bass) Two 3.5-inch midrange drivers (working together to provide an incredibly rich, forward vocal range) One 1.75-inch direct-radiator tweeterImpedance: 8 OhmsCabinet Material: Heavy-duty particleboard finished in premium, real oiled walnut veneer. Dimensions & Weight: Approximately 26″ H x 13.75″ W x 11.5 D, weighing about 54 lbs each. What Makes Them Special? The “Acoustic Suspension” BassUnlike modern speakers with open bass ports on the back or front, the Model Five is completely airtight. This design prevents loose, boomy bass. Instead, it provides tight, accurate, and incredibly low-distortion low frequencies that excel when playing acoustic instruments, jazz, and classic rock. Dual Midrange PowerBy utilizing two mid-frequency drivers instead of just one, KLH engineered a speaker with phenomenal presence in the vocal frequencies. This gives the Model Five an exceptionally wide, realistic soundstage that makes acoustic tracks feel like the performer is in the room with you. Contour SwitchesThe back panel features two rotary switches [1] that allow you to manually “decrease” or “increase” the output of the midranges and tweeters. This was designed to help owners tune the speakers’ brightness to complement the specific acoustics of their living room e. Dampening a room with heavy carpet or brightening a room with bare hardwood floors. For fans and collectors of vintage hifi. Similar to jbl L100, acoustic research ar-3a, klipsch Cornwall, klipsch heresy.
