Vintage Teledyne Acoustic Research’AR18B’ Bookshelf Speakers! Professionally Refoamed and Tested! This is a rare pair of awesome AR18B Teledyne Acoustic Research Bookshelf Speakers that have been professionally refoamed and tested. The woofers and tweeter measure great on the multimeter and they both sound awesome! These speakers really pack a punch in the bass, but also have very nice clear highs and mids. The speaker cabinets are in decent condition with a some corner dents and digs – also there is a slight seperation one on of the bottom corners. Photographs will show all damages. Both cabinets have their original AR speaker badges and brown cloth grills. One of the grills has a small hole that is not even the size of a dime. The condition of the cabinets and grills are purely cosmetic and do not affect the speaker’s ability play and sound amazing. Carefully view all photographs as they will highlight any damaged areas. Early serial numbers, very close together and this means they have the Cloth surrounds and better tweeters. I worked DeOxit into the the tweeter pots from outside so it is much smoother. This also means that these are still factory sealed! The grills have never even been removed. The sound is full, clear, warm and yet flat somehow? The tweeters and woofers function normally with no distortion nor buzz. I find only two minor chips that I pictures. There may be one or two very minor ones, but nothing I could catch with the camera. I just oiled them and have been listening for some time with great pleasure. And professional packing by me. 1 Pair Acoustic Research AR LST-2 Speakers, completely restored 2 years ago by a top AR restorer in the New England area! Cosmetically the cabinets have a few small dings and nicks here and there, but overall present very well, walnut finish is excellent, you have to look very closely to see blemishes. Performance is excellent, as new or better. They sound excellent and work flawlessly. Please do your own research, I assume if you’re looking at these, you know what they are. The little brother to the famous LST, just with a 10 inch woofer and one less tweeter and mid per speaker. This is what was done 2 years ago, and they’ve been babied since I bought them, everything’s the same today. When I say new, I mean upon restoration 2 years ago. New grill frames and new reproduction grill cloth matching original AR material and color. New reproduction logo plates and Spectral balance plates. Crossovers completely rebuilt with original value components, resoldered everything! Spectral Balance Controls disassembled, cleaned, relubed, work perfect. All 6 total tweeters are NOS AR equivalent replacements, extensively tested. All 6 midranges were completely rebuilt, tested and perform like new. Woofers were refoamed, spiders centered and tested.
