I BELIEVE THE CABS, AND XOVERS ARE ORIGINAL AR2A PARTS. ALL OTHER DRIVERS, AND GRILLS HAVE BEEN UPDATED. THIS WAS DONE YEARS AGO, AND I HAVE FORGOT WHAT AR MODELS ALL OF THESE AR DRIVERS CAME FROM. I KNOW THAT SEVERAL DRIVERS ARE HI QUALITY FROM NEWER AR SPEAKERS. IN MY OPINION, ALL DRIVERS ARE WORKING. AND IN MY OPINION, THE SOUND IS MUCH CLEANER, AND DETILED THAN THE ORIGINALS WERE. IN MY OPINION, SAME DEEP BASS FROM THE WOOFERS (ps, in my opinion the woofer surrounds are in good shape) IN MY OPINION, THEY SOUND A WHOLE LOT BETTER. IN MY OPINION, CABS AND GRILLS LOOK PRETTY NICE. IN MY OPINION, CABS COULD USE SOME ATTENTION TO BRING BACK SOME SHINE, ETC. PS, I TRIED MY BEST TO SEAL AROUND ALL OF THE DRIVERS, AND OTHER AREAS USING SAME SEALER TYPE AS ORIGINAL. INSURED FOR THE PRICE PAID. FEEL FREE TO MAKE ME AN OFFER. I ALSO HAVE THE 2 ORIGINAL CLOTH SURROUND WOOFERS THAT CAME WITH THESE SPEAKERS. ONE WORKS, (but the cone looks kinda bad) the other has a beautiful cone, but the voice coil needs to be glued on, and the cone then needs to be clued onto the frame.

Here are some vintage acoustic research ar2a speakers in good condition. These were restored about 10 years ago. However the pots are a bit touchy and either could be re-done or replaced. I do believe the gentleman that restored these kept the original pots just cleaned them up. The drivers are all in great condition the cabinets are clean with very minor signs of use. You can test them here if you’d like. If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. Please check out my other items and thank you for shopping.

Used pair of Acoustic Research AR-2A, 1963. Approximately 24x14x12 and 30 pounds each. The have a glossy clear coating on them. Both tested and working, due to the age and the covers are stapled on i have no way to verify the condition of the speakers. They may need to be refoamed.
