These speakers are older than me and the surround has deteriorated and the pentiometer needed some cleaning or needed to be replaced. 1 grill broke in half. Please INBOX me for any question. This is a beautiful set of AR2 speakers. The finish is all original. These even come with the original, serial number matching boxes. They sound really good with no noticeable flutter or other distortion. Pictures show all six sides of both speakers.

I have a very nice pair of AR-3 speakers for sale. They sound really good. I verified all speakers work but I have not used them much other then testing after I worked on them. This is the only pair I’ve owned so I only had a nice pair of 2ax’s to compare them to. I thought the 2ax’s sounded great and the 3’s sounds just as good but with a lot more bass. I have cleaned the controls (replaced 2 with originals) and they work fairly well but are not perfect. If you use these controls a lot you may want to install L-pads instead. I was thinking of just bypassing the controls next time I opened them up. The speaker grills and frames I believe are original and in great shape. I have left them off for now because they were difficult to remove so I decided to minimize the chance of damage with repeated installs/removals. Since I have not tried to reinstall them yet I’m not sure how easy that will be, I think maybe the edges may need to be glued around the frame edges before they are reinstalled. The wood cabinets are good with one exception. There is a large (2-3) chip missing from the front edge of one of that cabinets (see picture). If you were to restore the cabinets this would be fairly simple to fix. The top of the same cabinet shows some stains. Otherwise the sides of both cabinets are in good condition.

For sale is an excellent single of legendary Acoustic Research AR-3 speakers in rare I have. I think this is an earlier version of AR-3 is the 534 speaker produced 1950s. To the best of my knowledge, and visual inspection, the drivers are original and have never been removed or worked on. I was able to confirm all drivers are working. I partially lift the top of the grilles off to show the inside but did not remove the grilles.

These are a pair of Acoustic Research AR2 speakers. They have been tested and sounded great. Although their finish are mismatched, they are closed in serial number. One is B47801, the other is B43072. Cosmetically, they can both use a new finishing. Other than that, they sound great and in good condition.
