Set of Rare Vintage Acoustic Research A14 Speakers. Serial numbers 1397 and 1433. Up for sale is this pair of original A14 Acoustic Research speakers. We have tested these and they sound amazing. They are in good condition for speakers that are over 40 years old. The grills are in great condition. The testing consisted of connecting the speakers to a receiver and playing at a high volume for about 30 minutes. No distortion or abnormal sound was detected. They have not been professionally tested and we have priced them in consideration of that fact, but as far as our opinion, they sound great. The photos are considered part of the description. The cabinets have some scratches and dings that are represented in the pictures. They have not been touched up, refinished or repaired in any way. Because of the value, age, and condition of these speakers, I highly encourage you to inspect the pictures carefully. Up for sale is a beautiful pair of. In near mint condition given the age. They are the original AR2 speakers not the later and more commonly seen AR2a or AR2ax models. All drivers are perfectly working and sound articulate and musical. The pots on the back also work. I shed light through the grill fabrics and found all drivers perfect (grills cannot be easily peeled off). The woofers use oiled cloth and will not rot like foams. These speakers are in near mint condition for the age and come with all the original paperworks on the back. Some very minor blemishes are expected for speakers that old. I decided to sell my AR-9 speakers. We are moving and its a tight fit. They come with Original Boxes. This set is a one owner pair. Cabinets are beautiful, with some light scratches from age.
