After a lot of searching for the fabric closest to the original dynaco fabric, I was able to acquire this material. It has the same threads per inch and almost identical style, allowing your speakers to sound AND look like they should. Many other fabrics available are too dense and block some higher frequencies. Dynaco used this style fabric on the A10, A25, A35, A50, and possibly others. Please note that the fabric on the left is the new fabric and the fabric on the right is the original nicotine stained material. This fabric is made of polyester and is a light beige color, but I do have some available in bright white, should you want it. Just let me know in a message with your order. Acoustic Research AR3 speaker set, as pictured. They appear in good physical condition. Some typical scuffs/scratches on the wood are present. Labels/paperwork on the back have gone missing over the years. The speakers still present quite nicely. The grille covers look nice and clean, although perhaps slightly askew. No egregious cosmetic flaws. Please inspect the close-up photos carefully to fully understand the condition. I attempted to test them with a modern audio system, although my knowledge of audio equipment is limited. I wrapped the speaker wire around the the “T” and “1” hookups, and plugged the other end into the audio system. Both speakers played sound, although it seems a bit distorted/muffled to me. Both speakers sound similar in quality, although the photo-left speaker is a bit quieter than the other. Turning the “mid” and “hi” dials did not evoke noticeable change in audio. I’m guessing the set needs some repairs. Here’s a video that can hopefully illustrate the sound quality / issues. Each speaker measures 25″ x 14″ x 11.5-inches. We’re located in Ottawa, Illinois — about 90 minutes west/southwest of Chicago, right along I-80. Vintage Teledyne Acoustic Research AR 10pi Speakers pair Custom Grille Needs Fixing. Condition is “For parts or not working”. Here they are- my speakers from College ca. Fantastic AR 10 pi. The original foam grille cloth disintegrated, so I built a custom wooden frame and added an Aussie aboriginal pattern cloth. Cabinets are in great shape- beautiful walnut, they sure don’t make them like this anymore. Pictures tell the story. These speakers sound great, but will need some work and replacing of soft parts to make them perfect. The mid-range driver, tweeters, woofers, cross overs, switches and bass controls are all there. No damage to tweeters or midrange- they work well and sound good, but that woofer definitely needs a replacement to the foam support/surround. I have 100% feedback, these come from my smoke free home. New York State, CT, NJ… I prefer to hand these off personally at a truck stop than cram them into a cardboard box. Woofers are working, but i think the mids and high might be intermittently working. (this was last check awhile ago). Speaker are largely untouched.
