Acoustic Research AR3 speaker set, as pictured. They appear in good physical condition. Some typical scuffs/scratches on the wood are present. Labels/paperwork on the back have gone missing over the years. The speakers still present quite nicely. The grille covers look nice and clean, although perhaps slightly askew. No egregious cosmetic flaws. Please inspect the close-up photos carefully to fully understand the condition. I attempted to test them with a modern audio system, although my knowledge of audio equipment is limited. I wrapped the speaker wire around the the “T” and “1” hookups, and plugged the other end into the audio system. Both speakers played sound, although it seems a bit distorted/muffled to me. Both speakers sound similar in quality, although the photo-left speaker is a bit quieter than the other. Turning the “mid” and “hi” dials did not evoke noticeable change in audio. I’m guessing the set needs some repairs. Here’s a video that can hopefully illustrate the sound quality / issues. Each speaker measures 25″ x 14″ x 11.5-inches.
