Acoustic Research AR90 Complete Refoam Kit – Repairs 6 Speakers! This is the correct kit that fits on the 10″ woofers and the 8″ mid-bass speakers. Each Refoam Kit includes all the materials needed to repair four (4) woofers and two (2) mids. Two 8″ (F8-2) and four 10″ (F10-5) Foam Surrounds. Shims For Centering the 1.5 Voice Coils. Six 3.25 Screen (thin fabric) Dust Caps. 1 Big Bottle of Specially Formulated Foam Surround Adhesive. It can be difficult to refoam a speaker without removing the dust cap and inserting the plastic shims. The plastic shims are used to center the voice coil and cone assembly while the speaker is being refoamed. Each Refoam Kit includes all the materials needed to repair four (4) woofers and two (2) mids. Two 8″ (F8-2) and four 12″ (F11-1) Foam Surrounds. Shims For Centering the 1.5 Voice Coils (mids). Shims For Centering the 2 Voice Coils (woofers). Two 3.25 Screen (thin fabric) Dust Caps (mids). Four 2.75 Screen (thin fabric) Dust Caps (woofers). 1 Big Bottle of Specially Formulated Foam Surround Adhesive. It can be difficult to refoam a speaker without removing the dust cap and inserting the plastic shims. The 8 mid-bass has a paper dust cap under the screen dust cap, so you can either center it by hand (not cutting off the screen dust cap and not using shims) or what we do is cut the screen dust cap off first, then cut the paper dust cap almost off (u shape), flip it up and insert the shims. When the refoam is done, remove the shims, glue back down the paper dust cap and then glue down the new 3.25 screen dust cap that is provided with the kit. Each Refoam Kit includes all the materials needed to repair two (2) woofers and two (2) mids. Two 4″ (F4-5) and two 10″ (F10-5) Foam Surrounds. Shims For Centering the 1″ and 1-1/2″ Voice Coils. Kit Comes With Two 2.75 Screen (thin fabric) Dust Caps for the woofers. You can reuse the dust caps for the mids. 1 Bottle of Specially Formulated Foam Surround Adhesive. It can be very difficult to refoam a speaker without removing the dust cap and inserting the plastic shims. The plastic shims are used to center the voice coil and cone assembly while the speaker is being refoamed. If you do not use the plastic shims, the voice coil may be off center and it may lead to the voice coil rubbing. The midrange is small and easier to center by hand. If you want to shim the voice coil on the midrange you will need to cut off the original dust cap and glue it back down when the repair is complete.
