Used Acoustic Research AR-3a. We’ve had this since 1974, its mate was stolen in the 90’s who would steal one speaker? Speaker was re-coned in the 90’s but obviously will need reworked again. Cannot speak to the condition of the midrange, tweeter and crossover network. Looking at the cabinet it appears to be a walnut veneer over? On the sides, top and bottom. The back does not have veneer. Whatever the material is, IT IS HEAVY. Maybe that is why only one was stolen? The wood could use cleaned up and re-oiled, There are a couple of small scratches on the bottom. The other marks are white paint transfer marks that should clean up. I was asked to hook the speaker back up after it sat for 15 years to see if the cross over works. My old deaf ears can not tell if mid and hi range small speakers work as they should. My son says he can hear cymbals out both of the small ones and we can hear the “pop” of a dirty pot as they are adjusted. The woofer still works but is distorted and is so close to the small ones I have a heck of a time differentiating.
