This pair of Acoustic Research AR-4x speakers work and sound great! The only functional flaw is that the tweeter adjustment knobs are both pretty touchy- There is static while adjusting the knobs and sometimes they drop out completely for a second until settling the knob into place. There is A LOT of cosmetic wear. The grilles are heavily stained and one of the badges is missing. One of the grilles has a hole but it is important to note that it is in front of the wood panel, not in front of any of the components. The wood also has some staines and several chips as well as beveling/ warping in some spots. Small holes have been drilled into the tops of the cabinets. All in all if sound quality is the priority you will not be disappointed! If appearance is a priority this pair is likely not for you.
