These speakers are audio file quality with one tweeter, one mid-range, one 8 woofer and two 12 side-firing subwoofers. The individual speakers have been replaced recently with new equivalent speakers. The 4-way crossover network is the original. Lots of power is necessary to push the AR9 to its maximum sound quality, using the 8 ohm output of your amplifier. Our free Onkyo amplilfier creates a solid 110 watts per channel, which is sufficient for these wonderful speakers. You will be amazed at the smooth, linear transition throughout the 20 to 20,000 cycle range because of the 4-way crossover network.
