BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF AR-3 SPEAKERS WITH NEW GRILLES, LOGO PLATES, CONTROLS AND CROSSOVERS. Our restoration objective is to return a pair of speakers to as like new condition as possible. Fully tested with test equipment and a music source. You will not be disappointed. Both alnico magnet woofers have their original cloth surrounds with no air leakage. AR used three different midranges in the AR-3. We have installed the last production version, demonstrated to have a very low failure rate. The crossover has been adjusted accordingly. Both orange dome tweeters have strong output. All four level controls have been replaced with lifetime guaranteed controls. All crossover capacitors have been replaced with new, life time guaranteed capacitors. The grille frames are our strong Masonite replacement frames. The cloth is a replacement cloth that we use on all AR-3a speakers. Logo plates are new laser engraved plates manufactured for VINTAGE-AR. The original serial number paper work remains on the rears. Serial numbers are 21147, 18444. The cabinets have been completely refinished, lightly sanded, stained, new finish applied and hand rubbed. There is a noticeable difference in color, veneer and graining but both vary nice. One cabinet has a striking grain pattern on the front molding. A lower, rear corner on the darker cabinet has had a veneer repair, shown in a close up photo. Most would not notice it. The cabinets are now excellent, with nice sharp corners and hand rubbed to a silky finish. We have taken critical pictures of all sides, tops and bottoms so you can judge the condition yourself. These will give you many years of good service. The AR-3 utilizes a heavy 12 inch alnico magnet woofer, a 2 inch dome midrange and 1 3/8 inch hard dome tweeter. The AR-3 is a 4 ohm system and 25 watts r. Per channel minimum is recommended. It measures 14 x 25 x 11 3/8 inches and weighs 52 lbs. The free listing tool.
