These Acoustic Research AR-1 speakers are in fantastic condition. There are some marks and dents on the unfinished wood and the original screen fabric is pulling away from the edges. I have done my best to represent the condition in the pictures. These are serial numbers B13833 and B13836. As I said, they were inside furniture and have not seen daylight for 50+ years until about 3 weeks ago. I have hooked them up and they sound great. The tweeter control works although it is a little scratchy as you turn it, but I don’t know if this is age or just how they always worked. The highs come through beautifully and the lows are surprisingly loud for something of this age. I have also taken new pictures of the speakers through the grill cloth. Message me and I will share the album with you in google photos. Own a piece of history from the golden age of hifi with a pair of AR-1’s that are 3 serial numbers off. I will include the brochures that are in the pictures. I really tried not to rip them but they were staples to one of the speakers. I wonder if they’ll honor it.
