They have rebuilt crossovers with new caps, etc. The internal hook-up wire has been upgraded with silver wire from Homegrown Audio for all drivers (except the woofers which were upgraded to oxygen free copper hook-up wire). Even the crossover wire has been upgraded with silver wire! It makes a HUGE difference. Drivers are silver soldered directly to the hook-up wire (no connectors) All the drivers have either been replaced with NOS AR drivers or re-foamed originals, and have updated tweeters designed for the 910 installed in them. All of the work was performed by a professional loudspeaker restoration company. One of the dust caps is pushed in on one of the midranges but it doesn’t affect the sound at all. The terminals on the rear are dual bi-wire Eichmann CablePod tellurium copper five-way binding posts connected to the internals with silver wire and silver solder. Does all of these upgrades make a difference – oh yeah! In my opinion, these speakers outperform anything on the market. I actually own two pair of these since I love them so much – and the wife… Well you know the rest of the story. The speakers are 52 inches tall and weigh in at 140 lbs each. They have solid walnut tops and bottoms. The wood has some wear marks on them. The grills are available but broken as they all break (when you pick these up you can choose the best two out of the four grills I have). I play these without the grills they look killer! Powered by monoblock tube amplifiers at 100 watts per channel. The bass is like nothing you have ever heard yes, even through tubes! You can actually feel your bone marrow loosening up when you play the right source material through them. The tonal balance is superb and the sound is phenomenal! No expense was spared on these. Everything you do to upgrade your speakers makes a difference, the culmination of my efforts has yielded an incredible sounding full range speaker. Make sure you power these speakers properly.
