I can’t tell if they are sequential serial numbers, because the cards on the back are missing. I put in several hours restoring these. I replaced the tweeters, as the old ones were defective. There were some chips I repaired, and dye blended, but there is one spot on the side, pictured, I could only do so much to make it look decent. Also pictured is one bottom part of the cab, with the same problem. There simply wasn’t enough laminate there to work with. I sanded, and re-stained the cabs, along with a hand rub wax using Howard Feed n Wax. I also replaced the foam surrounds, as well as centered the voice coil. I used my De-Oxit kit on the pots, and it made them much better. They still cut out when you turn them. But, if you give them a light jiggle, when you have them set where you want, they stay perfectly. There’s even an old service document included. These sound unbelievable, and they look terrific! I’m replacing the grille cloth, just as soon as I’m done typing this. They will be finished tonight. The item “Acoustic Research AR5 Original Owner” is in sale since Saturday, March 12, 2016.
