Acoustic Research AR-3a Vintage Audiophile Speakers for Restoration. Cabinets in decent condition, one small laminate section missing on top – see photo. Tried removing grills using the screw in the badge hole method but they are on tight and I don’t want to damage them. Using a flashlight to look behind the grills all of the speakers appear original. Woofer surrounds look original and aren’t crumbling but are a brown color (see photo taken through grill). Mids appear to be original with wire cover. One badge is missing the cover. They both have original paperwork on the back. Adjustments on back are scratchy and finicky, only working in small sections. One woofer has a rattle (I only turned my stereo up to 1/4 volume to test). Overall very nice speakers ready for restoration! Thank you for looking!
