Absolutely beautiful, highly regarded vintage Acoustic Research AR9 speakers. Each speaker weighs 130 lbs each. All 4 woofers and 2 mid-bass drivers have just been re-foamed. Also, the decorative ring around each woofer and mid-bass (which covers the screws) has had new foam installed. After finding the right type of decorative foam, it took me several hours to cut the exact dimensions for each driver. Check out other AR9 listings, they likely all are missing this decorative ring (which makes a big difference in the overall appearance). Cabinets are in nice condition. They have been refinished with Howard’s Restore-A-Finish and Feed-N-Wax. The top of one speaker has a 1/4″ x 1/8″ veneer chip and one other chip about half this size (please see picture). This same speaker has a water ring (hardly noticeable) as well. Other than these slight imperfections, the cabinets look great as the photos show. The six grills are in good condition. Serial numbers are close in sequence: 04990 and 04999. Each speaker has two 12 woofers, a mid-bass, a mid-range and tweeter. These speakers require a very powerful amp to properly power and to make the speakers sound their very best. I would encourage you to read the many reviews on these legendary speakers.
