These are the early model, which have the Alnico Magnet woofer with Cloth surround. I have taken these apart in the last year and Freshened them up with new capacitors and cleaned the Pots and applied dielectric grease. The pots work, and I leave them alone and do any adjustments on the equalizer. Midrange and Tweeters work properly, all drivers are original. I custom made new speaker grills and affixed White Linen. They are not perfect in appearance. They are Perfect in sound Though, EXCEPTIONAL sound come from these speakers. The Bass is Incredible, The midrange is excellent in terms of clarity and really shine in string music (violins, viola, and many others), and the tweeter offers nice detail.
