Extremely Accurate , you will hear things you never heard before…… Like the tympani drums in the background before? They are Extremely Smooth sounding, no harshness. After the recap and update to LSI, they became Very enjoyable. Gone is the mid dome harshness. These are a 4 way speaker , 12 inch woofer , 8 inch mid woofer , and the Dome midrange and Dome tweeter. Grills are about perfect, no rips, no tears. Walnut Veneer is very good, with one area that had been repaired by the previous owner. I have ReCapped these, all new capacitors. Poly caps on middome and tweeter, and NPE dayton caps on woofer and mid woofer circuit. I updated the crossover to AR 98 LSI (LS IMPROVED) level…. Which means I added a resistor to the mid dome circuit (which smoothed out this speaker tremendously) and eliminated 1 tweeter capacitor. As compared to my AR9LSI, these do everything the AR9LSI does, except the ultra low bass notes. Very few speakers can do what the AR9lsi does, so its unfair to compare. However these are much smaller and easier to place in normal rooms , produce Great Highs, Crisp midrange and Deep lows with its 12 inch woofer, and the 8 inch mid woofer takes care of the 200hz and up to the mid dome. My camera had a smudge when taking pictures, there is no discoloration on grills. The LS [Linear System] series were developed specifically for audiophiles, musicians and music connoisseurs.
