Just acquired from the original 85 years old owner who had these tucked away for decades. Serial #’s “D-77994″ & “D-76890″. When tested after some fiddling with the tone controls I was able to get one speaker to work fully with tweeter, mids and woofer all working. Tone controls need a complete cleaning or restoration as they want to cut out the sound when moved. The 2nd speaker the woofer was working only. I was unable to hear any sound from tweeter or mids on that 2nd cabinet. On second speaker one tone control will nearly not move as to being very tight. The cabinets are in absolutely amazing condition. I found what appears to be possibly a paint ring on one cabinet [see photos], and a area on one cabinets end that looked slightly lightened and just a few light signs of scratches or ware overall. One of the “AR” badges on grill has age ware [see photo]. I did not add any wood oil to the cabinets and will leave that up to the next owner if desired. With the addition of wood oil to these cabinets they would really look sparkly and show room nice and possibly somewhat glossy. I did not want to add the oil as these cabinets as they have not been oiled sense likely from the factory 50 some years ago and it would change there originality.
