From roughly 1971, this Acoustic Research stereo/mono solid state FM tuner sounds fantastic. Works very well with little to no drift from what I can tell. It is currently hooked up and in use for hours at a time. All switches, knobs, and lights work properly. Some cosmetic blemishes that look worse under the harsh light of a camera flash. When taking pictures, I removed the power cable to show that it is in excellent condition. Unfortunately, when pushing it back in, the internal socket broke away from its position. I opened up the unit to inspect and found that all electrical connections were intact. So I pushed the power cable back into place. It would be best not to remove the power cable again. I have been using it for a few hours now after closing it back up and it still works wonderfully. It looks like the service manual can be downloaded from HiFiengine should it need to be serviced in the future. The tuner will be very well packed to make sure there is no damage incurred during travel (while taking care to prevent further damage to the power cable). Some specs from HiFiengine. The Acoustic Research Tuner incorporates either a Waller (Japanese) or Gorler (German) tuning front end. Both types feature four-section tuning capacitors. Sensitivity: 2.0uV (FM). Signal to Noise Ratio: 65dB (FM). Distortion: 0.5% (FM). Frequency response: 20Hz to 15kHz (FM).
