Vintage AR 4x Acoustic Research Speakers Tested Working Oiled Walnut Wood. This is a set of “Acoustic Research” speakers, the model number is “AR 4x”. She said that they had been stored away in the bottom of her fathers closet for years. When I brought them home, the wires, which appear to be original, were taped the the cases. The tape had been on there for a very long time, since it was all yellowed. I put them inside of the ziploc bags attached to each speaker and will be included with the speakers. I had my husband test the speakers for me before offering them for sale. He said that they both work and he tested them both separately and together for sound, both lows and highs. He said that he could tell that there wasn’t any cracks in the cones. The grilles appear to be original to the speakers and are dirty, but could probably be cleaned or replaced. The small little gold emblems with the makers name are no longer on the speakers. The paperwork is still attached to the individual speakers with serial numbers. Thanks again for shopping with me….. There are some overall signs of wear on the wood, there are some scratches, but overall they look pretty good. There are some small chips on a few of the corners (see pictures).
