TOTALLY RESTORED PAIR OF ACOUSTIC RESEARCH AR-LST SPEAKERS by VINTAGE-AR. THESE ARE EXCEPTIONAL IN ALL WAYS. FOR VERY SERIOUS MUSIC APPRECIATION. Our restoration objective is to return a pair of speakers to as like new condition as possible. They must perform to the original AR specifications and the cabinets must be suitable for display in your music room. We generally have a customer waiting for a pair of these. It’s been 3-4 years since we have listed a pair for sale. This is the last pair we plan on restoring. The woofers have new surrounds and were replaced and the voice coils centered by AR. Why is this important? Tweeters and mids are rear plug-in terminal design, allowing easy replacement if ever necessary. Also, late production crossover capacitors are Sprague Electric which measure like new and we have never found a failure. Only one cabinet has the Serial number tag, #2226. All drivers were individually tested with test equipment and a music source. The tweeters were tested against a “like new” reference and three rebuilt with new voice coils and suspensions. Even, the fuses have been replaced with New Old Stock originals. The grille frames and cloth are our new reproductions. The cloth is an off white imported linen with the little “slubs” that run up and down the cloth. The logo plates, Spectral Balance Control plates and control knobs are original and excellent. The cabinets have been completely refinished, lightly sanded, stained, new oil finish applied and hand rubbed. A few scratches remain on the bottoms. Otherwise, the cabinets are perfect, with nice sharp corners and hand rubbed to a silky finish. We have taken critical pictures so you can judge the condition yourself. Extensively tested with test equipment and a music source. You will be impressed. From AR: The AR Laboratory Standard Transducer was designed for professional applications.
