Acoustic Research: AR-9 + AR-91 Speakers, AR-2C Speaker and Sony STR-V555ES Lot. This lot includes a collection of vintage Acoustic Research speakers, specifically the AR 9 and AR91 models, along with the AR2c center channel speaker. These speakers were manufactured in the United States and are sought after by audio enthusiasts for their high quality sound reproduction. Also included in the lot is the Sony STR-V555ES receiver, known for its powerful performance and reliability. The lot was assembled years ago and every part has stayed in great care. This collection offers a unique opportunity to own a piece of audio history from respected brands in the vintage audio and video industry, that is hard to find all in one place. Passed down to me from my grandfather who was the original owner of these speakers. The speaker foam on the 6, 12 inch speakers and the 2, 8 inch speakers was repaired in preparation for sale. The foam was replaced with modern foam which won’t rot away like the original design. Everything about it is improved as it is professionally done by David of AZ Speakers. Everything is in working condition, everything has been recently tested. There is physical wear on all of the black panels, and a few marks on some of the cabinets. The Sony STR-V555ES is without a remote for now, however it is fairly inexpensive and I may get to purchasing one. The AR9 was a large floor-standing, vertical, 4-way, 4-ohm loudspeaker with two 12-inch acoustic-suspension woofers, an 8-inch acoustic-suspension lower-midrange speaker, a 1½-inch upper-midrange dome speaker and a ¾-inch dome tweeter. Dimensions were 52 ¾”H x 15″W x 15 13/16D with a net weight of 130 lbs. The crossover frequencies chosen for the speaker were 200 Hz, 1200 Hz and 7000 Hz.
