Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Acoustic Research AR-3A speakers. This will let you completely recap a set of two (2) AR-3A speakers. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear. There are two 100 uf capacitors, four 50 uf capacitors, and two 6 uf capacitors. The old caps are pretty bad by this point, but these new film caps will get your speakers singing again! These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you’re doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun, rubber cement, and probably some zip-ties or clamps to aid in mounting the caps. The original crossover has a 150 uf cap in it, which is replaced by the new 100 uf cap and one 50 uf cap in parallel. This pair is very large, but will sound MUCH better than the originals. Please note that the new capacitors are much larger than the old ones, because they are so much higher-quality.
