The Acoustic Research AR-3a is a landmark acoustic suspension bookshelf speaker introduced in the late 1960s, widely regarded as one of the most influential loudspeakers in hi-fi history. Featuring a 12-inch woofer, 1.5-inch dome midrange, and ¾-inch dome tweeter, it delivered remarkably accurate, full-range sound with deep, controlled bass and smooth, natural mids and highs. The AR-3a set new standards for neutrality and frequency balance, becoming a reference model for studios, reviewers, and audiophiles alike.
