Another piece from my personal collection. This model 303 is a modernized version of the AR 3A. To be blunt, I’m not a fan of AR, I think of their speakers quite poorly. Being an avid listener of JBL products, I’ve come to hate some of the popular AR models that I’ve tried across the board. AR LST’s, AR 1’s, AR3’s, AR 9’s etc. If you can name it, I’ve more than likely owned and listened to it. Out of all the Acoustic Research speakers I’ve owned, this pair by far, is the only one I’ve kept in my collection. The sound performance on the 303’s are similar to my L100’s, if not better. There’s a harmony between the lows and highs. Incredibly different from its AR predecessors. AR has always been known for its sharp and consistent clarity. The company mainly focused on creating warm and accurate sounds. However, the 303 was designed to move forward into a different direction, a much more aggressive approach. Which I must admit, is an excellent step towards something amazing. About these speakers cosmetically. Cabinet is in beautiful shape. There are some dings and scratches at the corners, but not as noticeable. All drivers are immaculate. No pressed in dust caps, no torn or rotting surrounds. Around a 7/10 as far as cosmetics go. All drivers produce pristine sound without any pops, cracks or inconsistencies. If you’re serious, please message me to set up an appointment for demo. I will cancel your order.
