JUST MANUFACTURED PAIR OF ACOUSTIC RESEARCH AR-LST SPEAKERS IN NATURAL CHERRY by VINTAGE-AR. OUR VERY BEST IN ALL WAYS. For many years we have planned on making these speakers and finally got to conclude the project. We expect that this will be our last pair. Try them in your home for 30 days. No, AR never made these in cherry. Over the span of 15 years we accumulated the parts for an outstanding pair. However, we could no longer find a pair of cabinets worthy of our restoration. Therefore, we duplicated the design of the AR cabinet and made these with furniture grade solid cherry and cherry veneer. The base cabinet is MDF as late production AR cabinets, all edges, side panels and front trim are solid cherry. Tops and bottoms are cherry veneer. The cherry was aged to allow it to darken naturally. Three coats of satin poly were applied, sanded between coats and then hand buffed with ultra fine steel wool and finishing wax. The result in a low luster silky finish. The woofers are a pair of our best, late production of the AR 9 era. The surrounds have been replaced while centering the voice coil during surround replacement. The mids are all late production, rear terminal, New Old Stock, saved for this project. Five of the late production, rear terminal tweeters were rebuilt, installing new voice coils and inner and outer suspensions. The crossovers are late production original AR when AR developed a printed circuit board vs. The original point to point wiring board. All the large capacitors are Sprague Electric which we have found to have never deteriorate. The two smaller non Sprague capacitors have been replaced with life time guaranteed computer grade film capacitors. The grille frames and cloth are our new reproductions. The logo plates, Spectral Balance Control plates and control knobs are excellent originals. As a matter of rountine, we always replace the fuses. We have taken critical pictures so you can judge the condition yourself. LST literature and technical information is included. Extensively tested with test equipment and a music source.
