PAIR OF VINTAGE ACOUSTIC RESEARCHs ORIGINAL AR-4 SPEAKERS. These are the original AR-4 speakers, NO T the later AR-4x or AR-4xa speakers. Their serial numbers are F-20677 and F-20703. While I dont have any information about current technical acoustic measurements, the speakers still sound very good to my ear. The frequency knobs on the back of the speakers turn easily and do not cause static. I have never cleaned or had the cloth grill off of either speaker. While the cloth appears to still be in good physical condition, it would benefit from a cleaning. With one exception, the cabinets are in good condition and show just normal wear/rubs. The exception is speaker F- 20703. My wife had a house plant on the top of it and unfortunately water got under its saucer and the result is water stain circles that has slightly raised the grain. While not the result of damage but rather age, the wood on one side of this speaker also has a long longitudinal wood grain line that has darkened. All of this is clearly shown on the pictures. They are exactly as I have used them. Included with the speakers are the original owners manual for each speaker, other paperwork, and the wall mounting kits and felt pads that came with the speakers.
