Original vintage 1960’s Acoustic Research AR4 speakers…. You know you want them! I have given you many more photos below so please scroll down. These are an original pair of 1 owner AR4 speakers. Well cared for, the cabinets are in above average condition. Please see all the high resolution photos below. As usual with AR speakers, the tweeter adjustment potentiometers were crunchy. I soaked them with contact cleaner and got them turning smoothly again, but they are shot. I also carefully removed each grill so you could see the drivers. This also gave me the opportunity to remove each tweeter and test them. Both tweeters are working perfectly. No problems with any drivers, they sound great. These loudspeakers will require the usual “AR tune up” which includes new pots and caps. Please examine the photos… What you see is what you get. Please study all the photos below. Original AR4 not the AR4x OR AR4xa etc….. These are the ones you want. Keep scrolling down for more photos. I’ll show you all sides. Original grille cloth in great shape. Rotating the speakers one turn now. The side panels on these AR speakers are in above average shape with only light marks/scratches. The other side of the cabinets now… I’ll show you the paperwork up close. The other speaker now. And the other paper tag attached on each now. The tweeter level controls… These pots ALWAYS need replacing on old AR speakers. And with the grilles carefully removed. I took my time and both grilles came off without any damage. A close look at each speaker and their drivers up close. And the other speaker now. Again, I tested each driver. All are working perfectly. A look at the tops of the cabinets. There are some small edge nicks corner dings etc which can be expected of speakers this old. The bottoms now which is the only area to show notable scratches and marks. C’mon you know you want it! Condition is very good as found. Light wear and tear which testifies to their age and vintage. Please examine photos and ask any questions. NO reserve so NO EXCUSES…..
