These AR3’s are all-original and as of the last time I played them (using modern Marantz gear) they produced sound (it would cut in and out according to the crossover knobs). The pots on the back turn easily, but seem dirty. These AR’s have lived in a climate controlled environment for the past 30 years. They are sequential serial and have all of their original paperwork attached to them. The papers have a few rips and tears, but are in great shape, all things considered. The speakers have their original brass tags The AR Logo and the brass 3 for each speaker. Even the bottoms of these speakers are clean! There are a few odd discolorations on the bottom of one. The plastic framing for the grill on one of the AR’s is cracked, I believe, because the grill is not tight against the frame. Also, the grills are dirty and may need to be completely replaced. There are imperfections (light scratches, wood) from normal use, but considering their age, they are in great shape. These speakers have lived better than most people. I have maintained the wood meticulously with professional care. In one of the pictures, it appears that there is a scratch on the front bottom left of the frame, but it is actually just a fly-away from the original grill fabric. Now, for the interesting part.. Is written on the back of each speaker. I have tried to research their history, but cannot find anything. Has significant history with the Beatles. I also had a Leslie speaker that was labeled Apple Corp. I have found pictures with AR’s along side the Beatles, but no way to prove they are these speakers. I’m sure someone can research these beauties and find out where they came from. There is still a logistic badge on one of the speakers. I have no clue as to what their history may be. I have a feeling it is interesting, but have absolutely no time to research them anymore. Leslie and AR’s came into my possession many many years ago and I would love to know more about them. I did not acquire these speakers to use and would really like to make room for more modern gear that I can use. If you would like more pictures or have any specific questions, please ask. I will help you as best I can. I live a life of transparency and will take pictures of any angle, macro or custom; just ask and I will provide. These speakers are completely original all drivers, knobs, brass tags, paper work and original grills. If you would like to hear them (also, I can put a condenser microphone on each driver – which was recommended by an AR expert), I will gladly hook them up and record a video or live stream. If you would like more pictures or have interests in a perticular angle, just ask and I will take photos for you. I will accommodate you as best I can. FREE to lower 48. Please ask questions if you have them.. I reply within the hour and absolutely love to help. If there’s anything you are looking for, please ask.
