Vintage Pair of Acoustic Research AR11-B Floor Speakers Working 1976-1981
This listing is for the pair of AR11B Speakers that you see in the photos. Please be aware that the two packages might not arrive at the same time. Local pick-up must be at a mutually agreed upon public location in Albany, Oregon. Not including the grills, each speaker measures about 14 by 10 ¾ by 25 inches. Each speaker weighs about 50 pounds. The wood of one speaker is a little darker than the wood of the other speaker. The serial number on one speaker is AR11B 34479 while the serial number on the other one is AR11B 34482. I do not know the difference between regular AR11 speakers and AR11B speakers. According to a reference that I found on the internet, the specifications are as follows. Type: 3 way, 3 driver loudspeaker system. Frequency Response: 27Hz to 30kHz. Recommended Amplifier: 25 to 225W. Crossover Frequency: 525, 5000Hz. Bass: 1 x 305mm acoustic suspension. Midrange: 1 x 38mm hemispherical dome. Tweeter: 1 x 19mm hemispherical dome. Dimensions: 354 x 635 x 273mm. I have listened to these speakers and they sound good to me. I do not hear anything wrong with them. It sounds like the switches on the reverse are working. The cosmetic condition is much like you see it in the 27 photos after the general description. There is a small ding along the edge near the back right hand corner of the top of the one with serial number 34482. There is a small chunk of wood chipped out of the bottom back corner of of the left hand side of the 34479. There is a little paint near the top back left hand corner of the top of the 34479 and near the bottom back corner of the left hand side of 34482. The bottoms of both speakers show wear and white paint. The black color of the grills is a little uneven with some lighter areas that you can see in the photos. It takes brighter light to see. There are some little craters in the grills that are mostly in one grill. They look to me like they were probably created by some kind of bug that likes plastic. On one of them, some of the grill has adhered to one of the tweeters. The white plastic cover on that tweeter makes me wonder if something has been altered. I have no way of knowing. When the light is reflecting a certain way on the tops, I can see a faint crescent shape on top of one of them. If you look closely you can see it in one of the photos. At most angles, it is invisible. The wood feels a little rougher within the crescent shape. Otherwise, these speakers are fine and as shown. My photos should give you a good idea of their general condition. Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there are shadows and reflections. Some of the photos distort the actual color of the wood somewhat. The photos where the wood looks less red show colors that are more accurate than the others. On my monitor, the colors in some of the photos are close to the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I guarantee this cake maker to be as described and represented by the photos. The photos are part of the description. 27 photos should load with this listing.
