Acoustic Research AR-3 Speakers. Up for sale is a pair of Acoustic Research AR-3 speakers in Oiled Walnut finish. They come with their original boxes and have consecutive serial numbers! These were acquired from the original owner and are in working condition. Much like most AR-3 speakers, the crossovers are not functioning as they should and will need to be repaired/restored. Remarkably, these AR-3’s come with their original boxes! Rarely do you see the original boxes being offered for sale with the speakers. Due to the age of these boxes they are quite fragile and are starting to disintegrate. The oiled walnut speaker cabinets are in fairly nice condition with some minor scratches/chips. All of the original metal badging is present and the original speakers grills are not broken (most are). One of the speakers still has the paperwork on back while the other does not. The serial numbers are located on the boxes and are consecutive. All of the original inserts are present in the boxes. This is quite a rare find and would make for a wonderful restoration project for the AR-3 aficionado. Please check my other auctions for more vintage audio gems!
