Three (3) Pairs of speakers for sale AS A LOT. All Speakers are functional, original and complete and have been connected and in use by me over the last 5 years, never abused. None of the cabinets have been refinished. All woofers have been shimmed and re-foamed within the last 3 to 5 years. The close-up sun-lit photos have been chosen to emphasize the imperfections of the cabinets so as not to mislead. In fact all of the speakers look much better in normal room light. The AR5s and 14s are probably among the nicest examples you will find that have not been refinished. AR5- All Sprague Compulytic caps which almost always measure in spec with no reason to think these are not still ok. The potentiometers are pretty good for AR pots but the tweeter pot in the cab with the green dot could stand another cleaning though it still works through about half of its range. The tweeter works fine when isolated. One cabinet has two corners dinged on opposite ends of same edge. Otherwise these cabs are very nice late model Euro style AR5s. AR2ax These were recapped with Daytons about 4 years ago. Pots were cleaned and are still good but are beginning to have some dropouts. The cabs have not been refinished but they have excellent structural integrity with a few dings and watermarks as can be seen in the photos. The light brown woofer dust covers were improvised when the original dust covers were destroyed at the time the woofers were shimmed and refoamed………. Works fine and if you are familiar with this woofer you know that a flat, non-mesh, dust cover was original. AR14 All Original, including original foam grills showing no noticeable deterioration. Cabinets are very straight but have some trivial stains and marks. They sat on their sides in a white painted bookshelf for over thirty years and some of the white paint melded with the finish in a few places. This is not major. From 3ft you cant tell what is going on it just doesnt look new. If you are interested and want more photos I can send them.
