A very nice pair of AR3a’s that have the more rare alnico magnet woofers. OEM grill cloth that is only slightly used. I had been saving this grill cloth for a long time to use it with a rarer pair of AR3a’s. I disconnected the old wax block capacitors and rewired newer OEM Spraques and Industrial Royalitic capacitors that spec out in these great speakers. The potentiometers were cleaned and dialectric grease added. There is a few dead spots on them but can find spots where they play fine. Tweeters are sounding fine. Woofers are in great shape and when pushed gently in, return nice and slow so the cabinet seal is there. They sound just incredible and would keep them if I didn’t have a pair of AR LST’s in my set-up. The cabinets were professionally refinished and have three coats of poly sprayed for years of carefree use. If you look at the veneer in the pictures, you can see the incredible veneer graining. I have seen many pairs of AR3a’s and never noticed graining like this. Hard to capture that almost burl look on the one pair but in real life, it looks like you could sink you hand into the veneer. These great speakers are over forty years old and a little history will be there but the pictures show they are beautiful. The serial numbers are 28148 and 28638.
